Non-Magnetic Springs
Precision non-magnetic springs engineered with relative magnetic permeability µr < 1.01 for magnetically sensitive environments.
Non-Magnetic Spring Technology Overview
Magnetically sensitive systems demand springs crafted entirely from non-ferrous alloys or fully austenitic superalloys that neither distort surrounding magnetic fields nor undergo residual magnetization during operation. Standard ferrous spring steels exhibit magnetic hysteresis and flux distortions that degrade the accuracy of precision instruments. TOSTA non-magnetic springs maintain relative magnetic permeability µr < 1.01, and are widely specified in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners, aerospace navigation systems, semiconductor lithography tools, and sensitive analytical laboratory equipment.
Non-Magnetic Material Solutions
Beryllium Copper (CuBe2 / C17200)
Relative permeability µr ≈ 1.000, high tensile strength up to 1,400 MPa following precipitation age hardening, superior electrical and thermal conductivity, and high fatigue endurance for precision aerospace switches and RF instruments.
Phosphor Bronze (CuSn6 / C5191)
Completely iron-free with µr < 1.001, excellent electrical conductivity, low friction coefficient, and stable elasticity for electrical contacts, relay switches, and sensitive medical instrumentation.
Austenitic Stainless Steel (AISI 316L)
Vacuum-melted and cold-drawn under strictly controlled deformation schedules to prevent strain-induced martensitic transformation, preserving low magnetic susceptibility (µr < 1.01) with superior corrosion resistance.
Titanium Alloys (Grade 2 / Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V)
Completely non-ferromagnetic paramagnetic characteristics, lightweight, high strength-to-weight ratio, and unmatched biocompatibility for MRI-compatible surgical equipment and aerospace avionics.
Nitinol (Nickel-Titanium Shape Memory Alloy)
Non-ferromagnetic material combining zero magnetic field interference with shape memory actuation and superelasticity for specialized micro-valves and surgical implants.
Inconel Superalloys (Inconel 718 / 625)
Non-magnetic nickel-based superalloys engineered to withstand high temperatures and dynamic mechanical stresses while maintaining zero electromagnetic interference in turbomachinery.
